Humminbird PiranhaMax 195c Review

200W, 200/455 KHZ TRANSOM MOUNT TRANSDUCER

QUICK OVERVIEW:

When you want to buy your first ever fish finder, look no further than the PiranhaMax 195c by Humminbird. Geared towards new entrants into the angler brotherhood, it combines robust features at a low price and a small, neat bundle that will fit on almost any boat!

The 195c’s transducer beam is so powerful, you will be able to distinguish between two things underwater that are just 2.5 inches apart. So if its a fish lurking around a rock or a tree, even if it’s just 2.5 inches away from it, you will still be able to see it ok!

With 200W of power, you can see as deep as 200 feet when you are on the 200kHz frequency. A really neat feature of the 195c is that its second frequency is 455 kHz – which is the starting frequency for most Down Imaging fishfinders – so you get a taste of that technology too!

Down Imaging draws exceptionally accurate pictures of the underwater world by using a very high frequency beam (455 kHz in this case). The readings will be displayed on a neat 3.5″ color display that has a resolution of 320 by 240. That’s about the same as the earlier iPhone models.

YOU CAN FIT IT ANYWHERE

Have a kayak or a small boat? Or perhaps no room on your console? No problem! The PiranhaMax 195c is nice and compact, so you can fit it anywhere – in fact, its size makes it a really good choice for kayaks.
